Hemos rescatado la real Historia del cacique Humacao, que muy clara está en las crónicas del siglo XVI, dispersa en muchos archivos y fue elaborada con gran destreza por nuestro historiador Salvador Brau.
Una historia marginada y olvidada del mayor guerrero arawak-taíno de Borikén, el Cacique Jumacao, que junto a los caciques Daguao, Cacimar, Yabureibo, Guaraca y otros, no le hicieron fácil la colonización a los españoles en los primeros 30 años de colonialismo. El oriente borincano quedó deshabitado de españoles por más de 100 años y así mismo las islas de las Antillas Menores al este, por los continuos ataques ayayanos taínos que no dieron tregua a los españoles durante todo el siglo XVI.
